Orlando comedy venues

Orlando's comedy splits between the International Drive tourist strip and downtown. Here's what to expect at each room before you buy.

Funny Bone Comedy Club

9101 International Dr, Suite 2310 · Pointe Orlando

  • The room that used to be the Orlando Improv, now the city's main touring stand-up club.
  • 21+ with valid ID for headliner shows. Thursday open mics are free and all ages.
  • Full bar and dinner menu, ordered from your server in the showroom.
  • Seating is first come, first seated at tables of four, so a party of two may share a table.
  • Fees and tax are included in the ticket price. All sales are final.
  • Popular weekends sell out early: every Jeff Arcuri show on Oct 22–24 was gone a week out.

SAK Comedy Lab

55 W Church St, Suite 211 · Downtown

  • A 250-seat improv theatre running since 1991. Wayne Brady got his start here.
  • Shows are made up on the spot from audience suggestions, so no two nights match.
  • Edgy enough for adults but popular with teens too, which makes it the go-to if your group includes under-21s.
  • Beer and wine at the lobby concession.
  • Duel of Fools and King of the Hill are the regular Friday and Saturday shows; October runs a Halloween "Duel of Ghouls".

Hard Rock Live

6050 Universal Blvd · Universal CityWalk

  • A big concert hall inside CityWalk that books arena-level comedians between music tours.
  • Tickets go through Ticketmaster.
  • Pair it with dinner at CityWalk, which you can walk to without a theme park ticket.

Dr. Phillips Center

445 S Magnolia Ave · Downtown

  • Orlando's performing arts center, opened in 2014, with three halls used for comedy.
  • Steinmetz Hall (about 1,700 seats) and the Walt Disney Theater take the big tours; the Pugh Theater is the smaller, closer room.
  • You can buy parking in advance on each show's page.

Good to know

Quick answers for planning a comedy night in Orlando.

Can under-21s go to comedy shows in Orlando?

Most Funny Bone shows are 21+, but its Thursday open mic is all ages. SAK Comedy Lab and the big theatres (Dr. Phillips Center, Hard Rock Live) are the best options for mixed-age groups. Age rules are set per show, so check the ticket page.

How far ahead should I book?

For a well-known headliner on a Friday or Saturday, book at least two weeks ahead. Sunday and weeknight shows usually have seats closer to the day.

Where is the comedy in Orlando?

Two clusters: International Drive (Funny Bone at Pointe Orlando, Hard Rock Live at nearby CityWalk) and downtown (SAK Comedy Lab and Dr. Phillips Center), about a 20-minute drive apart.

Are there free comedy shows?

Yes. Funny Bone runs a free open mic most Thursdays at 7:15 PM. Use the "Free" filter above to see them.
